North East jobs boost for caregivers

Care provider Home Instead Senior Care – which has seven offices across the region and provides care to older people at home – has announced plans to recruit 300 caregivers as the demand for its services increases.

In recruiting for these new roles, Home Instead wants to ensure there are enough caregivers to deal with the increasing level of demand they are experiencing from both new and existing clients during the coronavirus outbreak.

CEO of Home Instead Senior UK Martin Jones said, “The UK is under immense pressure due to COVID-19, and we want to ensure we can continue to commit to caring for our older clients especially following the Government’s advice to remain at home and socially distance; which inevitably will leave many elderly people unable to leave their homes or see the people who they may usually day-to-day.”

“We want to harness the community-spirit and kindness that is being demonstrated all over the UK right now, as those attributes are key to our workforce. There are so many people out there who could help us make a positive difference to older people through relationship-led care. We are urging them to step forward.”

Home Instead Senior Care is following the Government’s guidance on delivering home care during this time to ensure that they are minimising the risk of spreading the illness while still providing a vital service to clients so that they can stay safe and well at home.
