Pacifica Group expands national presence with TK Garnham & Sons deal

A North East home services company has strengthened its national footprint.

Pacifica Group has acquired TK Garnham & Sons Ltd.

Bosses at Houghton le Spring-headquartered Pacifica said the deal will add “more high-quality engineers” to its team and “increase our presence in the south of the country.”

They added the family-run, Suffolk-based operator has become part of Pacifica Appliance Services, which repairs and maintains brown and white goods nationally.

Founded 40 years ago, TK Garnham & Sons employs 30 staff from its Ipswich base, who support customers across East Anglia, central England and the South East and complete around 25,000 jobs a year alongside manufacturers such as Electrolux, Beko and Zanussi.

Pacifica chiefs said this prowess will complement its appliance arm, with the division – which works with firms such as Electrolux, Sony and LG – completing in excess of a quarter of a million repairs each year.

Under the terms of the acquisition, directors Darren and Keith Garnham – sons of founder Terry Garnham – have joined the team at Pacifica Group, as has the firm’s workforce.

The deal is part of Pacifica Group’s expansion plan, which is supported by growth investor Synova Capital.

Kevin Brown, Pacifica Group chief executive, said: “TK Garnham has a fantastic reputation in the appliance industry and in the South and East, which makes it an ideal addition to Pacifica Appliance Services.

“I am also pleased Darren and Keith are joining Pacifica; their experience and market knowledge will be invaluable to delivering further growth to our business.”

Darren [pictured above right, alongside Pacifica Group’s chief operating officer Scott Pallister] added: “We are very proud to become part of Pacifica Group.

“It has quickly become a significant player on a national stage, which will benefit our business.”

Pacifica Group was advised on the acquisition by legal partner Ward Hadaway, with the assistance overseen by corporate finance partner James Nightingale.

James said: “We are delighted to have supported Kevin and the rest of the Pacifica team on the purchase.

“I’m sure it will prove a strong addition to the Pacifica Group and further enhance its excellent reputation nationally.”
