Multi-disciplinary consulting engineer Patrick Parsons has appointed Gail Bamforth as chief executive.

Following a period of significant growth through acquisition, the business has appointed Gail to strengthen operations and consolidate its growth.

Gail brings with her 25 years of business experience across a variety of industries, ranging from media to supply chain, spanning public and private sectors.

Most recently she held the dual role of CFO and COO at Capita Travel and Events.

“After experiencing first-hand the fantastic energy in the organisation and the passion for the services we provide, I am thrilled to be taking on the role of chief executive at Patrick Parsons,” said Gail, who has started in the role immediately.

“Joining the company at this pivotal time allows me to draw on my experience of driving significant change through improved process and governance.

“In turn this will enable the business, and those within it, to develop, while continuing to keep clients our number-one priority allowing us to seamlessly deliver services across multiple disciplines and locations.”

Robert Horvath, chairman of Patrick Parsons, said: “Gail’s appointment is fantastic for Patrick Parsons.

“It’s very exciting to see a dynamic woman take on this senior leadership role within the engineering sector. Gail comes with vast management experience and is ably qualified to drive the business forward.”

Former chief executive Peter Stienlet will step into the role of chief commercial officer and focus on the commercial aspects of the business, supporting its strategy to grow the client base and facilitate development of services within key sectors.
