Perspective donates IT kit to schools

Perspective Financial Group Ltd (Perspective), the national financial planning and wealth management group, has donated a substantial amount of IT kit to help disadvantaged pupils with their education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a partnership with Business2Schools, a national charity founded in 2019, Perspective has provided PCs, laptops and monitors to schools near many of its 15 offices across the UK.

Business2Schools provides an ethical and environmental solution to the way businesses dispose of their IT kit and office furniture when it is no longer needed.

The charity currently has more than 600 schools registered wishing to receive donations, plus more than 50 major businesses, including Perspective, actively providing support.

Ian Wilkinson, chief executive officer of Perspective Financial Group Ltd (pictured), said: “We have all heard so much about the challenges of education during COVID-19, particularly for disadvantaged pupils, where lack of access to digital technology can be a significant barrier to effective learning.

“We are delighted to be involved in this initiative and to be giving a helping hand to future generations, as well as making a better impact on the environment.

“It’s been great working in partnership with Business2Schools, which has provided us with the confidence to repurpose our IT kit in a secure and well-managed way that will make a real impact on local schools and their pupils.”

“Businesses get to recycle their unwanted IT. The data gets wiped and the schools get things they desperately need. It also teaches children from a young age in a very tangible way about the circular economy and the importance of recognising the impact of climate change.”
