Jomast to launch 80 new apartments close to Newcastle city centre
Property developer Jomast will soon complete the first phase of a major new multi-million pound mixed-use scheme – Jesmond Three Sixty – close to the heart of the Newcastle city-centre on the site of the former Scottish Life House complex.
The 3.5 acre site, which is located to the north of Jesmond Road and the south of Sandyford Road, is already home to a number of occupiers, including bar and restaurant As You Like It.
Work on the multi-phase project includes the conversion and redevelopment of former office buildings into luxury residential apartments, the creation of new ground floor commercial units for retail and leisure use and the refurbishment of office space.
A new central courtyard with landscaping and outdoor terraces will also appear and a multi-storey car park is planned.
Phase one of the project, will be completed in January 2016, and will see the launch of 80 luxury two bedroom apartments in ‘ONE Jesmond Three Sixty’ and 10,000 sq ft of new ground floor commercial space.
ONE Jesmond Three Sixty will offer contemporary, high quality rental accommodation close to the city-centre aimed at a range of occupiers, from young professionals to corporate and executive lets. The high quality commercial space will be for a variety of retail and leisure uses.
Phase two, due to start shortly, will see the redevelopment and conversion of Sandyford House which will act as the gateway to the new destination. Designed to be a striking landmark at the entrance, this part of the project will be turned into luxury residential accommodation together with a further 10,000 sq. ft of leisure and retail space.
The high spec, residential, leisure and commercial offerings within Jesmond Three Sixty will link the city centre to the leafy suburbs of Jesmond and nearby Sandyford to create a vibrant, new urban hub within easy walking distance of the city and strong links with public transport being on the doorstep of Jesmond Metro.
Managing director of Jomast, Stuart Monk, said: “Jesmond Three Sixty is a hugely significant and exciting development that will totally transform a prime and prominent commercial area into one of the city’s key destinations. The site is very well located and we are delighted to begin to promote our vision for its future.
“Our aim from the outset was to create a vibrant and all-inclusive scheme with complimentary, mixed use facilities in order to maximise its full potential. The development will have far reaching benefits for Jesmond and the wider community and will help to attract new leisure and commercial occupiers to Newcastle upon Tyne. We intend to ensure that the end result is a destination with clear identity which will become a chosen location for both residential and commercial occupiers and users.”
