Quayside digital marketing company snags top industry award
December 13, 2016
Entering the 2016 UK Search Awards with a campaign which helped to transform one of their clients into a leading player in the UK’s car leasing sector, Evolved pipped some of the country’s largest agencies and a number of household names, such as Debenhams, Currys and Go Compare, to the coveted award.
The winning campaign has seen the client vastly increase their presence in Google’s search results, with enquiries growing to the point where they have taken on an additional 50 staff to cope with new business.
The award ceremony took place at Bloomsbury Big Top in central London earlier this week and was hosted by comedian Jason Manford.
Despite remaining confident about the strength of the entry, Operations Director Ian McIntosh said: “Although we knew we had a great entry, given the fierce competition around this particular award category, we were very aware that we were up against some great campaigns with huge resources.
“It makes winning the award extra satisfying! Every digital agency in the UK would love to be able to say ‘we ran the best SEO campaign in the UK in 2016’, and we will now shout that!”
Evolved Digital, based in the Toffee Factory in Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley, believe the national recognition will help propel the company to the next level.
Having grown from a bedroom in Gosforth to a company with a £1m annual turnover in just over two years, the business is expected to continue its current growth well into 2017, with some exciting pitches on the horizon.
This award is further evidence that the digital scene in Newcastle is booming and can compete with the likes London and Manchester.
Looking back on the company’s success as well as their plans for the future, Digital Director David Watts commented: “We’ve always believed we had the expertise and experience to grow a successful agency, but looking back to when it was just the two of us sat in a home office with a couple of cats, I don’t think we ever thought we’d get to this point so quickly.
“I think we realise that we’ve been very lucky to find some great, talented people in the North East and it’s their creativity and hard work that has made all the difference.”
