Recruitment firm Jackson Hogg planning hundreds of jobs after funding support

A recruitment and outsourced HR firm is planning a five-fold expansion following a funding boost.

Jackson Hogg has been backed by NPIF-FW Capital Debt Finance to further bolster its presence across Tyneside, Teesside and Yorkshire.

And bosses at the company, which supports clients across the science, technology, engineering and manufacturing (STEM) sectors, and recently opened a Leeds base, say it will help take its 110-plus team to around 500 over the coming years.

Helen Broadhead, finance director, said: “Taking aside the financial result in 2020 – owing to the global pandemic – we’ve seen constant growth since 2012.

“The STEM sectors will always be our core focus, but we have developed along the way to add more to our offering.

“We have expanded internationally, providing permanent and contract placements, and recently launched our industrial temporary worker solution.

“We are also one of the few agencies in the North East to hold a Gangmasters license, which allows us to supply workers into the food industry.

“And we have expanded into HR services, enabling us to provide a flexible HR partnership to clients.”

While Jackson Hogg works with clients in Europe, Canada and the US, Helen says it remains committed to delivering jobs and investment across its native North East and Yorkshire, with offices at Cobalt Business Exchange, in Wallsend, and Belasis Business Park, in Billingham, near Stockton, complemented by its new Leeds site.

Helen added: “We have the expertise and talent to be able to work globally – and the growth we’re seeing shows the quality of the team we have.

“The fact we have clients who have been with us since almost day one says a lot about the way we work and the relationships we build.”

Jackson Hogg secured its investment with support from WilliamsAli Corporate Finance and FW Capital, through the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.

Tristan Woolcock, WilliamsAli executive, said: “Their track record of diversifying to meet the changing needs of clients shows exactly why Jackson Hogg has seen the growth it has.

“With this investment, they are able to look to the next phase of global development with confidence.”

Alexandra Gent, FW Capital senior investment executive, added: “The ethos of the business is central to its success, and the positive and committed culture runs from top to bottom.”
