Rosh Engineering expands to fuel growth into renewable industry
October 31, 2019
With recent growth in the side of the business which serves large scale solar generation, Rosh Engineering has expanded into an adjoining factory in Gateshead to increase its shop floor capacity.
Combined with the Blaydon factory, the company will now have a combined 1800 sq metres of dedicated workspace as well as extensive on-site works throughout throughout the country.
Rosh Engineering was formed in 1981 and works across the UK, Northern Europe and beyond.
It has contracts for power transformer repair and refurbishment for electrical distribution companies like Northern Power Grid as well as large industrial consumers of power across oil and gas and process industries.
The additional floor space will double the capacity of transformers being refurbished.
Speaking about the expansion, Ian Dormer, Rosh Engineering managing director, said: “We fully understand that if we can improve our customer’s efficiency and performance then there will be an increased use of Rosh Engineering’s services.
“Rosh Engineering has always been based in Gateshead, although its current freehold property is after five different factory moves.
“Throughout all our expansion, Gateshead Council has shown terrific support and encouragement so we are pleased we can establish deeper roots in the borough with our new purchase.”
Rosh Engineering has also recently become a member of the Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme.
Minister for the Northern Powerhouse, Jake Berry MP, said: “The Northern Powerhouse is driving the green-collar jobs revolution so it’s fitting Rosh Engineering Ltd is the latest business to join our growing network of over 300 Northern Powerhouse Partners.
“It is clear they are keen to grow their business and support other organisations in the north-east to maximise their potential.
“I’m sure Rosh Engineering’s continued support for large scale solar generation in the region will build upon our £379.6 million Local Growth Fund investment across the North East to create more jobs and further boost the region’s clean energy sector.”
