Samuel Knight quadruples office space in deal secured by Naylors Gavin Black
August 4, 2020
The transformation of a prominent leisure property into one of Newcastle’s coolest new office spaces has completed following a letting by Naylors Gavin Black.
The Newcastle-based commercial property specialist has brokered a 15-year lease on the ground floor accommodation at City Quadrant, Westmorland Road, to international recruitment company, Samuel Knight.
As part of the transaction, the previously vacant 12,000 sq.ft space, which is spread over three levels, has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment programme designed and undertaken by Ultimate Group.
Following completion of the works in May, the customised office now incorporates an indoor park, sports room and amphitheatre, as well as a range of training and social areas including its own bar.
Chris Pearson, partner at Naylors Gavin Black said: “This is a fantastic workplace and unlike anything else in the Newcastle market at present. Samuel Knight had a strong desire to remain at City Quadrant and this deal has not only helped to accommodate future growth within the building, but has also provided them with a unique workplace, designed to meet their specific requirements.”
Samuel Knight, which first moved to City Quadrant in 2014, says its aim was to not only create a great working environment, but also to establish a new events space for community and business use.
Steven Rawlingson, founder and CEO of Samuel Knight International, commented: “A great deal of thought and consideration was put into the layout of our new headquarters and the finished product now provides the perfect platform for our expansion plans.
“Creating a great work environment was our top priority. From the outset we aimed to deliver a space that would become Samuel Knight’s ‘forever’ home, and I think we have certainly achieved that. We love what the location offers and our new headquarters more than quadruple the size of our previous office, giving us long term flexibility and opportunities for plans in the future.”
