Samuel Phillips Law welcomes Claire Fenwick as group marketing manager

A legal firm has made an appointment it says will help spearhead growth across the region.

Newcastle-based Samuel Phillips Law has welcomed Claire Fenwick to the role of group marketing manager.

Claire brings a wealth of experience to the firm, with her 25-year career including time at another Newcastle commercial law firm and 12 years at Northumbria University Law School, where she held the post of marketing manager.

Her appointment comes at a period of rapid change at Samuel Phillips Law.

The firm was last year acquired by lawyer Sufe Miah, founder and director of Miah Solicitors, in Leeds, who also bought Hathaways The Law Firm, which has offices in Gateshead and Low Fell.

In her new role, Claire will lead on marketing for all three firms, managing external and internal communications including advertising, PR, print and online marketing collateral and business development, as well as events, networking opportunities and sponsorship.

Claire, a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, said: “I am looking forward to the challenges my new role will bring, and working hard to exceed our goals alongside the fantastically talented teams.

“Although I will be based at Samuel Phillips’ office on Newcastle’s Grey Street, I will also be spending a significant amount of time in our offices in Gateshead, Low Fell and Leeds.

“My main aim is to increase the market share and brand awareness of all three firms to meet ambitious growth targets, and to bring the firms together in terms of culture and values.”

Sharon Boyd, group chief executive, added: “We are absolutely delighted to have Claire join us.

“I have been an avid admirer of Claire over the many years I have known her, so to bring her on board at this time is very exciting.

“Her extensive marketing and commercial expertise is just what we need to help drive Samuel Phillips Law, Hathaways The Law Firm and Miah Solicitors forward across all our service areas, and support me with the transformation.”
