Seat maker Bazaar Group sitting pretty with new appointments

A furniture maker has strengthened its senior team with three appointments.

Bazaar Group has welcomed Mark Short, Helen Svennson and Dan Pinchard as board directors.

Bosses say the trio will support the Cramlington-based soft seat maker’s plans for European expansion following investment from Comhar Capital.

An experienced chief financial officer, Mark counts time as a Chartered accountant with Newcastle-based PwC on his CV, as well as senior roles across the transport, leisure, healthcare and construction sectors.

Helen’s HR career spans 20 years across e-commerce, digital, technology and construction, with past positions including leadership roles at END Clothing and digital agency TH_NK.

Dan has 19 years’ commercial experience, with 15 spent in e-commerce across domestic and international markets.

Mark Dolder, Bazaar Group chief executive, said: “I am delighted Mark and Dan have chosen to join the group, particularly as their talents, experience and leadership qualities will contribute greatly to our future success.

“I’m equally excited about Helen’s deserved promotion to the board, as she’s the epitome of a progressive and highly effective HR leader.”

Craig Wilkinson, Comhar Capital managing director, added: “It’s an exciting time for the business, and I am really pleased we have been able to broaden the board with such high calibre people.

“Our growth plans are ambitious, and Dan, Helen and Mark all have key roles to play.”

The trio’s arrival follows the retirement of board of directors, and former non-executive chair, Ian Simpson.
