Synergi finds synergy in new partnership
December 2, 2020
Cloud-based technology service Synergi has identified the transformative power of sport as the primary reason behind a new partnership set to benefit communities across the North East.
The Gateshead-based ‘cloud first’ business has become the latest firm to back innovative sport service GiveToLocal.
And a partnership rooted in shared values and a common ethos has the potential to build a bright future for community sport clubs across the region.
Synergi CEO Peter Joynson explains: “We could immediately see the tangible benefits to the businesses and sports clubs involved with GiveToLocal.
“And as a team with a passion for innovation and driving effective, transformative change, we are right behind GiveToLocal’s fresh approach to backing sport while boosting business through more thoughtful networking.
“There is strong evidence that grassroots sport plays an important part in building strong, healthy communities and improving life chances — particularly for young people.
“As well as developing skills and promoting health benefits, sport provides the chance to learn about teamwork, friendship and even coping with disappointment.
“It results in experiences that will benefit people throughout their lives.”
Synergi has joined a growing network of regional and national businesses working together under the GiveToLocal umbrella to underpin additional support to thousands of players, coaches, parents and volunteers across 15 sports.
Synergi specialises in helping organisations across the UK to digitise working practices and migrate from traditional IT systems to more flexible and cost-effective cloud-based technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
And the firm has a reputation for being a company that cares — quietly and effectively supporting a range of good causes across the North East.
“As soon as I spoke to Peter it was clear that Synergi’s like-minded approach to supporting the community aligned perfectly with our own values and ambitions,” adds GiveToLocal’s head of corporate relations, David Broom.
“Their positivity and professionalism make them a perfect partner and we’re looking forward to achieving great things together.
“Synergi are clearly the right fit for GiveToLocal’s network. It’s fantastic to have Peter and his team on board.”
GiveToLocal’s determination to back sport, boost business and build networks has ensured the service has maintained an upward curve despite the challenge of coronavirus.
The Tyneside-based service aims to put an additional £10m a year into community sport and securing the support of corporate partners allows the organisation to broaden its reach and widen its support to clubs across the UK.
“From a business viewpoint working with GiveToLocal means we’re part of a like-minded network of organisations and it opens doors to new commercial opportunities for Synergi,” adds Peter.
“GiveToLocal has set out some ambitious national aims and we look forward helping them extend its reach across the country.
“The chance to support community sport in all its forms — as well as generating new business — is a perfect fit with Synergi’s ethos of being a good business and making a difference wherever we can.”
GiveToLocal reinforced its commitment to the region’s business community earlier this year by joining the North East England Chamber of Commerce.
David and his team are active members of the regional Chamber and are keen to start more conversations around sport’s power to do good and how North East businesses can make a lasting difference to communities facing an uncertain 2021.
“The support we’ve had from the Chamber and the local business community has been incredible so far,” adds David.
“Synergi is just one example but there’s an overall sense of goodwill and a belief in what GiveToLocal can achieve.
“We have some exciting plans in place for 2021 and growing our corporate network is a key part of the bigger picture.”
