Third major contract win and new factory boost for Rosh Engineering Ltd

North East based, Rosh Engineering have won a five-year contract with Northern Powergrid

The contract will see the company repair and refurbish Power Transformers. This is the third framework contract awarded for a Distribution Electricity Company in the last 18 months.

Due to the company’s high ambition and growth it joined the Scaleup North East programme in February. Managing Director, Ian Dormer worked with Scaleup Partner Andrew Esson.

The company has now expanded in space and purchased a 1,100m2 factory on the banks of the River Tyne, Blaydon. The half million-pound investment enables Rosh Engineering to extend its repair, refurbishment, testing and installation services.

The new factory has an overhead lifting capacity of up to 20 tonnes and enough space to improve its offering to the electrical supply industry as well as large industrial plants that need power transformer work carried out under cover rather than out on site. Ian said:

“The whole team have ensured that we’ve won these new framework orders by delivering consistent, high quality, on time projects.

“With staff delivering exceptional service for many years to the electricity industry it’s now resulting in customers committing to long term contacts.”

Family owned Rosh Engineering has worked at Power Stations, Electricity substations and other industrial complexes throughout the UK and Northern Europe for 40 years.

Working with Rosh Engineering Andrew and Ian identified key challenges and developed and action plan to help achieve growth targets, Andrew said:

“Rosh Engineering are one of the first companies we worked with on the Scaleup North East programme. It is a pleasure to work with such an ambitious business, and to support them with their growth journey as they settle into their new premises.”

Rosh Engineering have won many health and safety awards and is currently recruiting across a variety of trades to fulfil the growth they are experiencing.

Led by the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and delivered by RTC North, Scaleup North East aims to create and sustain more scaleup businesses in the North East economy.

Scaleup North East is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
