Womble Bond Dickinson provides platform for £256 million Govia rail deal

A law firm has supported a rail operator on a £256 million deal.

Womble Bond Dickinson helped Govia Thameslink Railway secure a five-year technical support and spares contract with Alstom.

The agreement will see Alstom support the maintenance of Electrostar fleets on Govia’s Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern network.

Womble Bond Dickinson’s support was led by Newcastle-based transport team partner Paul Coleman, alongside managing associate Todd Rayner.

Paul said: “Our strong relationship with Govia, combined with our in-depth understanding of the rail sector, ensured we were well placed to assist their team on all aspects of this deal.”

Womble Bond Dickinson works with public and private passenger service providers, as well as freight operators, manufacturers, government bodies and members of the supply chain.
