ZF gets in gear again with Cancer Research UK support

An automotive firm has renewed a charity partnership.

Peterlee-based tech maker ZF is working again with Cancer Research UK.

The agreement revives an alliance that began in 2019 but was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the partnership, the company will hold various fundraising challenges, which will include physical tests and support for Stand Up To Cancer and the Great Celebrity Bake Off initiative.

It will also hold health sessions for staff to minimise their risk of cancer diagnosis.

Lisa Hudson, HR manager, said: “We have so many members of staff who are, or have been, directly and indirectly affected by cancer, so this is a charity that means a lot to us.

“We’re delighted to be able to renew our partnership and we’ll be undertaking lots of fundraising activities.”

A number of ZF’s Peterlee team has already supported Cancer Research UK this year, with 11 employees having taking part in the recent Race for Life, at Sunderland’s Herrington Park.

Claire Wase, Cancer Research UK’s North East relationship manager, added: “The support we receive from companies like ZF is vital to the work we do.”
