Northumberland pub launches treasure hunt through its home delivery service

Northumberland pub The Twice Brewed Inn is offering customers of its burgeoning home delivery business the chance to win prizes to look forward to after the UK lockdown is lifted.

The Pub In A Box home delivery service was launched following the nationwide closure of pubs and restaurants and has been very popular across the region.

More than 500 orders have already been shipped, giving customers the chance to enjoy a taste of The Twice Brewed in the comfort of their home.

Now, those who order the £30 Pub In A Box package will have extra reason to rip open their deliveries.

From April 18, a limited number of golden beer mats will be added to randomly selected packages – and each can be exchanged for visits and experiences at The Twice Brewed Inn and Brew House, worth hundreds of pounds.

As well as a 5 litre mini cask of Sycamore Gap Pale Ale, 2 Twice Brewed pint glasses, 2 packets of crisps, 2 packets of nuts, a pub quiz and 2 beer mats; those who find a Golden Beer Mat in their Pub In A Box will be offered three big prizes.

They include a brewing experience for one (worth £240), stargazing, supper and slumber for two (£120) and dinner, bed and breakfast with a brewery tour for two (£120).

Head brewer, Matthew Brown, who is working solo at the Brew House to protect the health and wellbeing of staff and customers, said: “The response to the Pub In A Box has been really phenomenal.

“It seems to have caught people’s imagination and we’ve had so many lovely messages from customers who appreciate being able to have a flavour of The Twice Brewed delivered direct to their door.

“As the lockdown looks set to continue for the next few weeks, we started thinking that it might be fun to give people something extra.

“By hiding a limited number of Golden Beer Mats in the Pub in A Box packages, it adds a bit of excitement to the delivery – and for those who find one, it offers something lovely to look forward to when we’re all able to start getting out and about again.

“Whether you’re really interested in brewing; love the sound of a night among the stars or simply want to spend some time soaking up the stunning location of The Twice Brewed Inn and making the most of our hospitality – we’re really looking forward to welcoming our Golden Beer Mat winners as soon as we get our doors open again.”
