The Grammers: Bringing Together Like-Minded People

Set up by three North East mums who love their Instagram and had a vision to create a community to help make connections and support one another, The Grammers has returned with a bang in 2024.

The Grammers was set up in 2019 by three mums, Jackie Rendall, Emma Antunes and Suzanne Adamson, with the sole purpose of bringing together like-minded North East Instagrammers to share and find inspiration. With their passion for a good get-together, a lovely natter and the chance for ‘friendly, relaxed networking’, they quickly found that many others also wanted to ‘meet the faces behind the squares of Instagram’ and, following their first ‘Instameet’ at Colonel Porter’s Emporium in Newcastle, The Grammers community was born.

“Let’s start a group where we can go behind the squares, put the social into social media and meet the faces we follow!”

Despite having been forced to stop due to the pandemic in 2020, The Grammers are well and truly back following their super successful event at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield on 18th April. Attended by 125 women and with a host of sponsors including Elemis, Matthew Clark, Bibendum Wine, Whispering Angel, Tony’s Chocolate and West Barn Co Clinic, The Grammers once again achieved their mission to share positivity, inspire others and connect the North East Insta community, whilst their fabulous goody bags have become the stuff of legend! The event also managed to raise £620 for Butterwick Hospice, which for the past forty years has provided comfort and support for individuals and their families in both Teesside and County Durham.

Whatever your interests and whether you are a blogger, vlogger, influencer, youtuber, small business owner or simply want to meet, chat and make friends, The Grammers’ Instameets offer the opportunity to forge the links and friendships that can genuinely change people’s lives for the better.

With their next Instameet at Ramside Hall in Durham on 16th October, The Grammers are looking for more people to join their tribe, so if you want to make ‘real connections with real people’ then simply follow them on Instagram or, better yet, take the plunge and join them at one of their upcoming events. You might find, just like Jackie, Emma and Suzanne, it really is a game changer.
