Activ Technology eyes strong 2021 amid continued remote working landscape

An IT support company says it remains on the expansion trail after enjoying a “strong and stable year” despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Newcastle-based Activ Technology says it has maintained good momentum during 2020 thanks to demand for its services from operators switching to remote working.

The business says it will continue broadening its offering in 2021 and has refused to rule out strengthening its team.

The company, formed in 2010, provides managed IT and telephony services to small and medium-sized firms and education partners, supporting mobile and telecom infrastructures and providing day-to-day support.

Despite being caught up in the COVID-19 pandemic, managing director Ian Gillespie said the business is primed to continue growing, revealing it helped many customers during the year transfer to cloud-based operations and leverage platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure and Citrix cloud.

He said: “We have had a somewhat strong and stable year as we have navigated through the unforeseen impact of COVID-19.

“We have really played to our strengths and as we head towards 2021, we will continue to look out for talented individuals and key partners to join us as we build on our product offering and double down on delivering the very best managed services to those in need.”

Finance director Michael Hearns added: “We have a very solid and capable team, and this has helped us to develop trust and to build long standing relationships.

“As we move into 2021, we will continue to grow our portfolio of cloud-based solutions to help businesses adapt to the changing climate.”

A key area where Activ Technology bosses see potential for further expansion is the ongoing switch to remote working, which they believe will continue for many firms during next year.

Sales manager Dean Cowens said: “COVID-19 has written an indelible footprint on every business, including our own.

“It is fair to say the pandemic has changed the way many companies and individuals operate forever – remote working is now not just an option, but the day-to-day reality for many.”

The company’s positive outlook comes after it attained Microsoft Gold-certified partner and Mitel silver partner status.

The former accolade means Microsoft has declared that Activ has successfully committed itself to evolving Microsoft technologies to the benefit of clients.

Bosses say its Mitel status means Activ’s expertise across the full suite of Mitel products has been recognised, as well as its ability to deliver an exceptional level of service, technical capability and sales.
