Animmersion UK reveals future jobs plan after trio’s arrival

A technology company has refused to rule out creating further jobs after bolstering its workforce to fulfil a growing order book.

Animmersion UK has welcomed three new recruits.

Dan Johnston has joined the Middlesbrough-based operator as a unity developer.

Jonathan Watt has also arrived as a front-end developer, with business administrator Hannah Booth completing the trio of new faces.

Dan brings a wealth of expertise in developing VR games for autism therapy, as well as extensive experience in immersive spatial audio systems and sound design for mixed reality applications.

Jonathan, who graduated from Northumbria University this year, gained valuable experience while working on placement with HMRC as a Java developer, and says he will use those skills to bring additional value to Animmersion.

Both Dan and Jonathan joined the company virtually, after it invested quickly in essential equipment and technology at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hannah, who recently completed her Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship with Animmersion, has taken on a full-time role and will support the business administration and finance teams, helping with day-to-day activities in the office.

Managing director Samuel Harrison said their arrival will help the business meet current demands – but added he hopes to take on further recruits to help the company satisfy future contracts.

He said: “This year has been an incredibly exciting time for the team, demonstrating our ability to attract new people and our commitment to nurturing local talent.

“The addition of Dan, Jonathan and Hannah is exactly what we need to be able to continue to grow the business and meet the ever-increasing demands of clients.

“We actively encourage the team to develop their skills, and we have a number of people studying towards higher education and professional qualifications, which will build on their existing skills and experience.

“In terms of recruitment, we’re not finished yet.

“We have plans to expand further, and to invest in the very best digital talent, and we are looking for people who are passionate about digital media and immersive technology.”
