Buchanan Estates teams up with WalkersXchange on Northumberland development

A developer has joined forces with a property agent to ramp up work on a new housing scheme.

Buchanan Estates has appointed WalkersXchange Estate Agents to market its Southfields estate.

The development, based in Acklington, Northumberland, will feature 16 homes, including bungalows, semi-detached and detached properties.

William Davies, Buchanan Estates’ director, said: “We are delighted to be working with WalkersXchange, which has an excellent track record for promoting homes and residential developments throughout Northumberland and Tyneside.

“Continuing the ‘best of local’ theme for this scheme, we have appointed Surgo Construction, from Newcastle, which has a great track record for delivering a first-class product as a building contractor.

“We understand what people want after the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and our development offers the best of rural living with all local amenities close by.”

Hailing the new partnership, Julie Walker, WalkersXchange’s head of sales – who founded the business almost four years ago – says she is confident Southfields will prove extremely popular, with COVID-19 continuing to inspire people to make “life-changing decisions”.

“The housing market in Northumberland is incredible at the moment; there is absolutely no slowdown whatsoever,” said Julie, who was recommended to Buchanan Estates by Surgo Construction thanks to work together on a nearby site.

“I think many people, especially the over-50s, are making life-changing decisions because of the pandemic and many want to get out of towns and cities to benefit from more space, less congestion and room to breathe some fresher air.”

Bosses say they expect the development to be completed in the summer of 2022.
