Chamber launches new knowledge events series to get businesses back on track

Business organisation, the North East England Chamber of Commerce, has launched a new series of virtual knowledge events and networking opportunities to support North East companies coming out of lockdown.

The Chamber’s events for June and July include seminars on returning to the workplace safely with advice from business leaders and a webinar with the head of the British Chamber in Spain, about how the Spanish business community tackled COVID-19.

Arlen Pettitt, knowledge development manager at the Chamber, said: “We are seeing a great appetite for information on a whole range of issues from access to financial support to how to market a business effectively in the current climate.

“The pandemic has created challenging conditions for our regional companies and our on-line events and webinars gives them a chance to get answers quickly as well as being supported to continue their business.”

Seminars in the months ahead include how to manage new recruit online and a manufacturing and engineering roundtable on how the sector is recovering and what support is needed from Government.

The Chamber has adapted to new ways of working and supporting its members, giving businesses a chance to promote their services and products with regular virtual networking events, which are well attended.

Since lockdown, the Chamber has organised 70 webinars attended by more than 2000 people.

It has also issued daily briefing on Government business support measures and hosted Q&A sessions on COVID-19 related queries.

Two major online events are the Chamber’s latest Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) on June 25 and the Inspiring Females annual conference on July 16.
