Erimus appoints new operations director and targets £20 million turnover

Boutique insurance broker Erimus has appointed a new operations director after retaining a position as a Top 100 Independent Insurance Broker.

The Stockton-based company is the largest independent broker to have its headquarters in the North East and has appointed Lee Elgie to a role created specifically for him.

As operations director, Lee will take control of various aspects of the business, including brokering, compliance and finance. He also arrives with a mandate to improve operational efficiency at the firm.

Speaking about his appointment, Lee said: “I’m really excited to join Erimus. I’ve lived and worked around the country, but this area is home for me, so it feels great to be back.”

Lee spent years rising through the ranks at various insurance brokers after graduating university, moving from junior to director level in just a few years.

The chartered insurance broker recently held group responsibility for operations, regulation, compliance and HR at another brokerage, giving him knowledge and experience to bring to his role at Erimus.

He added: “I wouldn’t have come back for just any job. I know Erimus and its reputation is excellent. The opportunity to work here was just too good to turn down.

“The people are fantastic at what they do, loyal and really welcoming. I genuinely feel at home here.”

Erimus director, Paul Davison, said: “Lee is a local lad who has worked around the UK and the wealth of experience he has gained will help us to continue to grow as a business.

“He’s an ambitious individual and we couldn’t be happier to have him with us.”

Erimus has plans to maintain its Top 100 status , invest in technology and its people and hopes to achieve £20 million turnover within the next 12 months.
