EY appoints new senior corporate banking specialist to support local business growth

Accountancy firm EY has expanded its presence in the North East and Yorkshire with the appointment of a senior corporate banking and business development specialist.

Alexandra Fogal joins EY as an associate partner following 17 years with Barclays advising businesses across the region.

Alexandra was previously head of business development for the manufacturing, transport and logistics (MTL) sector at Barclays in Leeds where she managed deals for corporates with turnover in excess of £50 million.

During her 17 years at Barclays, she also established and managed the national Women in Business Awards.

The awards ran for six years raising £50,000 for local charities and recognising the outstanding contributions made by female leaders across the country.

In addition, Alexandra also led the Barclays’ Women Network and sat on its national diversity and inclusion (D&I) board.

The new role at EY sees Alexandra back to developing and maintaining relationships with owner-managed, AIM-listed and private equity-backed businesses across the region, supporting both immediate and future growth aspirations.

Speaking on her appointment, Alexandra said: “I’ve been working with businesses across Yorkshire for all my career and after 14 years of corporate banking experience, I know the challenges that businesses right across the region are facing when it comes to growth.

“I’m really excited to start this new role and help private businesses of all shapes and sizes with their growth aspirations by combining my network and knowledge of the local market with EY’s strengths and depth of expertise.”
