Headliners have been announced for the Lindisfarne Festival 2020, which following a crowdfunding campaign in November last year, is set to take place at Beal Farm on the Northumberland coast for from September 3 to 6.
Electronic music duo Groove Armada will headline the three-day music and arts festival, famed for their hit singles ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘Superstylin.’
Groove Armada have released eight studio albums, four of which have charted in the UK Albums Chart top 50.
Tom Findlay of Groove Armada commented: “We’re right up for headlining the Saturday night at the spectacular end of summer Lindisfarne Festival. With a mix of current and classic Groove Armada tracks, we’ll bring a set that’s sure to get the party started. Hold tight.”
Also confirmed for the mainstage on the Friday night are Alabama 3, renowned for their song ‘Woke Up This Morning’, which was the soundtrack to TV series, The Sopranos.
The 2020 Lindisfarne Festival also sees the return of Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club and a host of acts such as Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Fabio + Groove Rider, Zion Train, DJ Rap, Letz Zep, The Destroyers, Backyard Rhythm Orchestra and more.
In total, the over 18’s camping festival will host a line up of 200+ musicians, comedians and performing artists over 10 unique stages.
There will also be a programme of creative workshops, spoken word, yoga and holistic therapies on offer. Last year, 5000 people attended the event.
Conleth Maenpaa, founder of Lindisfarne Festival, said: “We are beyond excited to have Groove Armada headlining our Saturday evening slot. As one of the planet’s best-loved and biggest selling dance acts, we know these guys will be a popular choice with festival goers!
“Following growing demand, we are also pleased to open our gates again on the Thursday night, giving people the chance to make a full weekend of it.
“And we don’t stop there. With so much more in the pipeline, another 100 acts are still to be announced including our Friday night headliner. We will continue to invest in making Lindisfarne Festival better each year, which is demonstrated most recently by our rebrand and new website.
“We will also be unveiling a new stage for this year, and as ever will have a huge range of entertainers and performing artists. It’s going to be another amazing and unreal weekend and we are so excited to share our plans over the coming months.”
