Harlands Accountants appoints former ethical banking MD to senior role

Experienced business funding expert, Simon Boyson, has joined Durham-based firm, Harlands Accountants, as a corporate finance specialist.

Simon’s previous roles include commercial corporate relationship manager at a two high street banks, including RBS, and managing director of ethical business banking specialist, Gateway Commercial Finance.

His new role will include supporting clients in obtaining business growth through the utilisation of various funding options.

Speaking of his appointment with the business growth and tax advisory firm, Simon said: “I’m delighted to be joining Harlands, in a new role for the company. The team have an innate understanding of the requirements of British businesses and work hard to deliver real and practical advice to their clients.

“Throughout my career I have always advocated for helping SMEs and growing companies to manage their financial situations, allowing creative and viable business ideas to flourish. Simon’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Harlands, who have assisted clients to grow their Gross Value Added (GVA) over the past 12 months at a rate three times the national average. The business has also introduced a raft of new services, including an innovative virtual finance director service; enabling SME’s to access high level advice without tying up the extra desk space.
