Home Group reveals 30-job plan in digital expansion

A housing association has revealed plans to create up to 30 jobs to support a digital expansion.

Home Group is strengthening its team to ensure more customers can use digital accounts.

The Gosforth-based business says the expansion will cover a number of roles, including website developers, information architects, app developers and DevOps engineers.

Bosses say the 30 positions, which are all based in the North East, will be filled over the next nine months, adding they will bolster the organisation’s service provision for nearly 120,000 customers across 55,000 properties in England and Scotland.

Taya Allen, digital development manager, said: “We are going to be working at the cutting-edge to ensure we reach our goals, which might surprise some people who don’t automatically associate housing associations operating at the forefront of new technology.

“However, with such a large and diverse customer base we need to ensure we’re supporting them in every way we can. This means thinking of new and innovative solutions that will directly impact people’s lives.

“Within our agile teams we tackle architecture, research, development, testing and more.

“We need people with ambition, fresh ideas and a passion for helping others to help shape the future.”

In May, Home Group was named one of the top ten places to work in the UK and the best workplace in the North East.

It was also named the eighth best workplace for women in the UK in the Great Place to Work annual awards.
