Introducing Grantley Hall, opening Spring 2019

Located at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, near Ripon, the forthcoming Grantley Hall is tipped to be one of the UK’s most remarkable luxury hotel launches of 2019.

The historic Grade II* listed property set on its own private island, complete with a lake and English-heritage listed Japanese garden, is currently undergoing extensive restoration and will open as an exceptional luxury hotel in spring 2019.

The multimillion pound restoration project, overseen by owners the Yorkshire-based Sykes family, will see Grantley Hall return to its former glory offering a relaxed luxury hotel and wellness retreat with 47 exquisite rooms and suites and an extensive and diverse range of dining options.  A number of local companies are actively involved in the project including; architects, Bow Man Riley (Leeds, Skipton); project managers,  Lucas Lee (Leeds and Huddersfield); building contractors Wooler and HACS (Keighley and Harrogate); food and beverage consultants, Escapade Bars (Manchester); spa consultants, Clever Associations (Harrogate); interior designer, Jo Moore from Ralph Edward Furniture (Northallerton and Derbyshire); garden and landscape architects, Alistair W Baldwin (Thirsk) and printers, Spellman Walker (Bradford).

Once open it’s estimated that Grantley Hall will create approximately 180 local job opportunities, with a number of key team members already in place including General Manager, Andrew McPherson, previously at Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa.

Located in Grantley’s East Lodge will be the Grantley Academy, an accredited learning and development facility for Grantley Hall employees, with dedicated learning zones.  All staff will have bespoke personal development plans offering opportunities for growth and progression, as well as comprehensive individual training and wellbeing programmes delivered using accelerated learning techniques. Dedicated staff accommodation will be available in the new Courtyard Building featuring 49 ensuite bedrooms, several kitchens, informal lounge areas, a fully-equipped gymnasium, laundry facilities and an outdoor seating area

Grantley Hall is set to make quite an impact on the gourmet scene in North Yorkshire with seven stylish drinking and dining venues, all using the finest local seasonal ingredients and handpicked wines from around the world.  Culinary highlights will include an elegant fine dining restaurant; Bar and Restaurant Eighty-Eight, offering an experiential Pan-Asian experience with creative cocktails and live music; Fletchers Restaurant for relaxed all-day dining, serving inspiring British and European dishes; Valeria’s, named after the owner, a glamorous late night Champagne and cocktail bar and The Drawing Room, the ideal setting for a quintessentially British afternoon tea.

Other standout facilities will include a contemporary and well-equipped wedding and banqueting suite as well as a number of incredible private events spaces; a tranquil spa and pioneering ELITE performance centre.

Andrew McPherson, General Manager comments; “We are very proud of our rich local heritage and believe Grantley Hall will be one of the UK’s most prestigious five star luxury retreat experiences, combining the rich heritage and 17th century splendour of the original Hall with beautiful interior design and an exceptional range of leisure and dining facilities, all set in the picturesque surroundings of the glorious Yorkshire countryside.”

“We can’t wait to open the doors next spring to mark the beginning of this new and exciting chapter for Grantley Hall.”
