Miller Homes to build 149 new homes in Bedlington

A North East housebuilder is creating a community of 149 new homes in Bedlington while contributing more than £1 million to benefit the local area.

Longridge Farm is a new development by Miller Homes and will comprise a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Located on Choppington Road, the development offers a central location for house hunters looking for a home in the market town.

Homes are now available to reserve online and from the sales office at the housebuilder’s Portland Wynd development in Blyth. A sales centre at Longridge Farm is due to open early in the New Year and a show home will follow.

Miller Homes is also contributing £1 million to local infrastructure including education, sports facilities, health care facilities and off-site highway improvements.

Longridge Farm will feature 22 affordable homes.

Andrew Somerville, sales director at Miller Homes North East, said: “We’re expecting Longridge Farm to be a very popular development and we can’t wait to see it take shape.

“We had over 600 people register their interest ahead of the recent sales launch and hope to help these house hunters find their dream home there.

“Over the past few months we have seen an increase in interest in our more rural developments across the region, as some home movers have reassessed their priorities and would like to live in a countryside location with access to open spaces.

“This development offers the best of both worlds as it’s really well located and has a number of close amenities ideal for couples and families, with access to key roads for commuters.

“It’s around a 10-minute walk to the town centre and a short drive from the popular Plessey Woods Country Park, which is a great setting for a walk in the fresh air.”

As part of the initial release of homes at Longridge Farm, buyers can choose from a range of house styles, with prices starting at £184,950. Help to Buy is available on a selection of homes.
