Newcastle-based Nire Beauty shortlisted for Amazon small business award

Newcastle-headquartered business Nire Beauty has been shortlisted at the first ever Amazon Small Business Awards.

The awards celebrate unique UK small businesses selling their products on global online retail giant Amazon and will recognise finalists in three categories: Small Business of the Year, Exporting Small Business of the Year and Innovative Small Business of the Year.

Nire Beauty, which creates and manufactures cruelty-free makeup brushes, has been shortlisted for the exporting award.

Erin Graybill, director at Nire Beauty, said: “Being shortlisted for an Amazon Small Business Exporting Award is an amazing achievement for our company and we’re really excited to find out if we win later in the year.

“Having recognition for our export efforts from a company like Amazon is really inspiring and shows us that we’re definitely on the right track; we already export 60% of our sales and this continue to grow.

“Our diverse team speaks seven languages and works passionately to localise our brand for our growing international customer base.”

The winners for each category will be selected by Amazon customers and are due to be announced on December 4.

Each will receive a prize package including six months of dedicated account management, £10,000 of Amazon advertising credit and a trip to Amazon’s Seattle head office to meet senior business leaders and receive training on how to grow their business.

Simon Donegan, head of UK seller service at Amazon, added: “Small businesses like Niré Beauty are the backbone of Amazon’s drive for offering customers great value, selection and convenience.

“These awards give us the opportunity to recognise and showcase some of the most impressive small businesses in the UK, and help others learn from their successes, and we are thrilled to be able to offer the winners a trip to our global head office in Seattle.”
