Breaking new ground in surveillance technology, Ocucon delivers a powerful, cloud-based storage and retrieval platform, combining intelligent data analytics with the facility to store, analyse and retrieve unlimited amounts of HD video surveillance footage from within the Ocucon portal. It is the first technology of its kind to offer unlimited cloud-based storage as a service.
The North East-based firm also recently launched Ocucon Pixelate. Developed in partnership with Google, the new product harnesses the power of AI and machine learning to deliver an intelligent and cost-effective video redaction tool that can be used with all forms of camera footage.
Founder of Elverston, LLC, Brand is an industry-leader in innovative consultative services. In joining Ocucon, he brings a wealth of experience in retail technologies and programmes not only focused in the loss prevention and asset protection industry, but also aiding the overall customer shopping experience. In his new role, Brand will be responsible for Ocucon’s business development and growth, offering strategic advice and assisting in the development and delivery of Ocucon’s new services.
Brand Elverston, commented: “As a market leader in surveillance technology, I’ve been following Ocucon’s journey since its launch last year. It has grown from strength to strength and I am very much looking forward to coming on board as a consultant to the business. With my specialist experience and broad range of business contacts, I believe I can help support and elevate Ocucon’s continued growth.”
The announcement comes as Ocucon prepares to exhibit at the upcoming NRF (National Retail Federation) Protect 2018 Loss Prevention Conference and EXPO, where Brand will make his debut with the company. Ocucon will be joining leading IT service management company, Telaid at the event which is taking place this month from 11 – 13 June in Dallas, Texas.
Gary Trotter, Co-Founder of Ocucon commented: “Brand’s experience with major retail technologies will be an invaluable asset for the business within the US market. The NRF Protect 2018 show later this month will be a great introduction to the business and we’re very much looking forward to seeing what the future has in store with Brand on board in our growing team.”
Launched in October 2017, Ocucon is set to revolutionise the ability of businesses to defend against fraudulent cases of slips, trips and falls – currently estimated to cost the UK economy alone more than £800 million a year – by removing physical limitations on the amount of surveillance footage an organisation can save. Ocucon is expected to be of interest to any organisation capturing significant amounts of CCTV data, and since its launch has seen significant interest from both UK and US supermarkets and retail chains.
