North East recruiter wins at the Best Business Women awards

A businesswoman from the North East has been announced as one of the winners of the 2019 Best Business Women awards at a gala final in London.

Sophie Milliken from SRS Recruitment won best business woman in recruitment and was praised by organisers for her business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity.

SRS are graduate recruitment and employability experts, working with employers to design their assessment materials and graduate schemes. They also supply a number of universities with assessment centre simulations.

The Best Business Women awards are designed to recognise the achievement of those women who not only run successful businesses but in many cases also juggle the needs of their families.

Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Business Women awards, said: “We were delighted with the number of entries this year, which came in from all over the UK. This is a tough competition judged by business experts. To win is a major achievement.

“Our winners are shining examples of being amazing entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges and have showed they have the ingredients worthy of being recognised and rewarded.”

The judges of the recruitment award commented: “Recruitment can be a tough industry so well done to all the finalists selected who are all great examples of businesswomen in this industry.

“Our winner Sophie Milliken is passionate about the employability of young adults and the business has gone from strength to strength.

“She demonstrated clear strategic vision and delivery plan with significant personal achievements.”

Sophie Milliken added: “What an absolute honour to win such a prestigious award! Listening to the judges feedback relating to our work at SRS was a truly special moment and I’m delighted to take the trophy back to the office.”
