Steven Hugill has joined the Gosforth-based company as business journalist, supporting editor, Alison Cowie. Steven is an experienced news and business reporter, having worked for more than ten years in regional press.
After beginning his career at the Scarborough Evening News, Steven moved to The Northern Echo, where, as business editor, he oversaw print and digital coverage that included exclusive content, interviews with high-profile politicians and industry leaders, and the launch of new publications to champion the North East’s business success stories.
Steven commented: “I’m thrilled to have joined the team at North East Times, and I am looking forward to working with the team to build on the already established independent editorial features, and working with the publication’s advertisers and partners.”
In addition, North East Times has also strengthened the team with a digital journalist, Richard Dawson.
Richard recently graduated from Newcastle University with an international political economy MA, and is a well-rounded writer who has contributed to a several print and on-line publications on a range of issues from politics and current affairs to culture and technology.
Richard’s will support the editorial team with content for both print and digital platforms.
