Northern Gas and Power plans recruitment drive after record growth

Energy management firm Northern Gas and Power (NGP) is undertaking an extensive recruitment drive after further customer acquisition and uptake of its innovative energy technology.

Part of the Global Procurement Group, NGP recently posted revenue growth for 2018 of £29.6 million and is aiming to reach £40 million this year.

Growth in the company’s profits currently stand at 144 per cent, leading law firm Ward Hadaway to name them Fasting Growing Company in the North East at the Fastest 50 Awards.

Recent growth has prompted the energy specialist to ramp up its recruitment drive. It is thought that roughly 200 sales agent roles will be created across the North of England with a further 200 positions planned internationally.

In addition to salespeople, NGP is also recruiting for web, software, engineering and technology experts.

The Gateshead-headquartered company is also planning to move into a bigger premises in Spring next year to accommodate this expansion.

Paul Barrett, NGP operations director, said: “We are currently in the process of another huge recruitment drive, which will see more than 200 jobs created across the UK and a further 200 globally, throughout 2020.
