Parkdean Resorts wins big at the British Travel Awards

Gosforth-based travel operator Parkdean Resorts has been awarded Best UK Family Holiday Company at this year’s British Travel Awards (BTAs).

The announcement was made last week at a gala awards ceremony in London, attended by many key individuals from the travel industry.

Parkdean Resorts is now the largest holiday park operator in the UK, with 67 locations in coastal, countryside and woodland settings.

The company also has eight parks in Cornwall, which was named Best UK Holiday County at the BTAs.

Steve Richard, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts, said: “This award is a testament to the power of our talented people who drive our success.

“They place customers at the heart of our business as we strive to deliver consistently excellent service and create amazing memories. What a great achievement.”

The BTA is an independent organisation with a long history and verified by business and accountancy practitioners Deloitte.

British Travel Awards chief executive, Lorraine Barnes Burton, added: “Parkdean Resorts is to be congratulated on winning Best Large UK Family Holiday Company.

“Competition was particularly strong this year but ultimately it is the travelling public who decide the winners by voting for the travel companies they consider the best in the business.

“The British Travel Awards is the largest awards programme in the UK and to win is truly an accolade.”
