Parsons Containers Group expands with new Tees site

A shipping container firm has opened a new 2.2-acre site to continue its expansion.

Parsons Containers Group’s new base, under the Tees flyover near Stockton, includes a sales office, a site for the company’s U Hold The Key self-storage business and container handling facilities.

The expansion means the company now has nine sites in the North East.

The move comes after the firm secured investment of £825,000 to support the expansion of its UK operations in 2018.

The funding was secured through Maven Capital Partners, via the Finance Durham Fund and the North East Development Capital Fund, which injected £500,000 and £325,000 into the business respectively.

Its new Teesside site is the latest step towards achieving the objectives outlined in the strategy which secured the Maven investment.

Ean Parsons, who founded the business in 2000, said: “This is a very important moment for us.

“On its own, the new Teesside site is a significant and exciting addition to our portfolio, but it also represents much more in the context of our wider ambitions.

“Having the ability to move and store containers so close to the A19, with such good access to the UK road network, opens up a lot of opportunities.

“Similarly, our improved U Hold The Key capacity will help meet increasing demand for self-storage.

“We’ve chosen this site carefully, knowing we can develop it into one of the largest in the group, an important consideration as we continue to invest for growth.”
