Premier Roof Systems eyes expansion after turnover boost

A windows, doors and conservatory roofing firm has unveiled expansion plans after enjoying a rise in turnover.

Premier Roof Systems is looking to move to larger premises, open trade counters across the region and acquire businesses to sustain its progress.

To support their plans, bosses at the Jarrow-based company have welcomed Gary Lumby MBE (pictured left) as a non-executive director, with Ashley Fox (pictured right) joining as technical sales manager.

Founded in 2011, Premier Roof Systems makes, supplies and installs conservatories, orangeries, home extensions, roofs, rooflights, windows and doors.

It has also recently entered into a partnership with Ultraframe, which managing director Pouya Bostani says will stand the business in good stead.

“Product development is hugely important to us in an industry that’s continually changing, and we need to offer new and innovative products to stay at the forefront of developments in our sector,” said Pouya.

“Ultraframe is highly regarded as a market-leader and is a great fit for us.

“Ashley is joining us from a 12-and-a-half-year career with Ultraframe, and having worked nationally, brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the system and different customer needs.

“In addition, Gary’s many years of extensive experience at a senior level with Yorkshire Bank and on the board of other organisations means he can advise and challenge us on our journey, building on our recent success to increase revenue and staff numbers by 36 per cent year-on-year for the next three years.”

Gary, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland, who mentors entrepreneurs, including Pouya, on the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Programme, and sits on the Tees Valley Business Grant Support Scheme investment panel, was awarded an MBE for services to the finance industry in the 2008 New Year’s Honours List.

He said: “I’m excited about the growth of the business, which is set to increase by more than 50 per cent in turnover this year following the introduction of new products and additional team members like Ashley.

“We’re actively looking at opening trade counters across the North East, as well as looking to acquire complementary businesses and move to larger premises to accommodate our ongoing growth, so it’s exciting times.”
