PX Group named in Sunday Times Top Track 250

Stockton-based engineering and industrial infrastructure business, PX, has climbed a league table of the UK’s top performing mid-market firms.

The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 is a league table that tracks mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales across the UK.

Other North East firms listed in the table were Parkdean Resorts, Hays Travel, Kitwave Wholesale Group, Cleveland Cable Company, Frank Recruitment Group and Barbour.

PX was listed 106th out of the 250 firms, off the back of a 70 per cent increase in turnover to £230.7 million and profits rising by one third to £6.6 million in the last financial year.

The company operates gas processing plants near Aberdeen and on Teesside and has power generating operations in Cumbria, Lincolnshire and Wales.

Geoff Holmes, chief executive officer of PX, said: “This is further evidence of our successful growth strategy, which is driven by the leadership, commitment and skill of our people across the business.

“It is tremendous to have received this national recognition for the work we have been doing to expand and diversify our business, all of which provides us with firm foundations on which to build further growth.”
