RSM welcomes record number of new trainees in the North East

Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has announced the appointment of a record 12 new school leaver and graduate trainees – expanding its team in the North East to over 150.

The new recruits will join a growing team in the Newcastle office, across service lines including audit, corporate and private client tax, business advisory and financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions and risk; and will start their RSM careers on an intensive training course. They will also commence study towards their professional accountancy qualifications.

The North East appointments are part of another record intake of 320 graduate-trainees across RSM’s UK office network, continuing to expand the firm’s total headcount. The high level of new recruits reflects a significant uplift in activity and a determination to continue to offer clients the best possible service.

RSM offers trainees a range of career opportunities from technical development and overseas secondments to participation in key CSR activity, including taking on the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

Steve Railton, RSM’s office managing partner in Newcastle said: ‘This is our biggest ever trainee intake and it’s fantastic that we’ve been able to take on so many new starters in the North East, which reflects the recent growth in our business.

‘We are committed to attracting, developing and retaining talent across all areas of our business and we will be supporting each of our new trainees to develop their careers within the firm. I am sure they will all make a significant contribution to further strengthening our service offering to clients right across the North East region.’

RSM is expected to take on more new starters over the coming months and is already inviting applications for its 2019 intake for graduates and school leavers, further details are available here.
