RTC North’s STEM Hub expands with two new recruits

The STEM Ambassador Hub North East, part of RTC North, is set for growth attracting two new faces to the team.

The Hub, which covers the vast patch of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Tees Valley, has grown from four to seven in staff over the past year. The expansion comes as a logical continuation of a couple of years of positive change, explains Janine Marshall, STEM Hub Contract Manager. She said:

“The Hub has reached a peak in its activity over the past year or so and as a result we needed some extra support in the face of experienced STEM and project management professionals. The whole team and I are over the moon to welcome Suzy and Claire to the gang and we all look forward to taking it even further in the upcoming months.”

Claire Willis and Suzy Rennison have joined the Hub in April and June respectively, bringing a total of over 35 years’ experience in the STEM and project management fields.

Claire is focusing on working with industry and schools and encouraging young people to enjoy science and to consider a career in STEM.

Suzy is the Hub’s new STEM Relationship and Monitoring Manager, developing and managing connections with organisations, stakeholders and partners both regionally and nationally.

The team has recently finished another successful year of running the Regional Mentoring Programme in the North East and is currently getting geared up for the biggest celebration on the North East – the Bring It On event, which they are managing.
