A North East rail and energy recruitment company is aiming to bolster skills provision after joining a business development organisation.

Samuel Knight International, based in Newcastle, is now a member of NOF.

Bosses say the partnership will support a drive to ramp up skills needed for offshore energy sector work.

Durham-based NOF operates across the global energy sector, working on behalf of members and partners to connect companies with businesses in the UK and overseas.

Steve Rawlingson, Samuel Knight International chief executive, said: “NOF is a very valuable and respected organisation in the energy sector.

“This membership will allow us to continue building strong links in the industry and connect with prospective clients who can benefit from global manpower solutions.

“We are particularly looking forward to taking part in some great debates, attending industry events and seizing opportunities to enhance access to niche skills for clients around the world.”

Joanne Leng MBE, deputy chief executive of NOF, added: “We are delighted to welcome Samuel Knight International.

“The business joins a diverse and experienced network of supply chain companies, which has an excellent reputation for collaboration and working in partnership to achieve the goal of securing new work within the energy sector.

“Skills remain one of the key challenges facing the energy industry, including the offshore wind sector, which is continuing to evolve and therefore is constantly requiring new skills sets to meet its objectives.

“The input of members with expertise in this field is very important.”
