Search begins for North East’s top directors

The search is on for the most talented company directors in Yorkshire and the North East.

Entries have opened for the Director of the Year Awards 2019, run by the Institute of Directors (IoD) to honour the best in business leadership.

New categories have been added for 2019 to recognise the Young Director of the Year and the leading director of a business with a £50 million-plus turnover.

The winners will be celebrated at a black-tie dinner held in the prestigious Principal York hotel on 4 July 2019. They will go through to represent the region at the UK Director of the Year Awards later in the year.

The judging panel will be chaired by Simon Walton, managing partner at Berwick Partners/Odgers Berndtson, Leeds. He said: “These prestigious awards recognise individuals who meet the highest standards of leadership in business, public and third sectors. The entry process is refreshingly simple and open to all. We’re looking forward to celebrating the success and diversity of regional business.”
