Newcastle-based Silverstone Building Consultancy has appointed a new graduate building surveyor as it continues to expand its team.

The specialist firm of building surveyors and project managers has appointed Joe Young, who recently graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a 1stclass Bsc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying.

Joe, who is from the North East, previously gained work experience at residential management agency, Exchange Residential (part of Adderstone Group), during his degree. He also carried out work placements at Naylors and Meldrum.

Joe said: “I am delighted to have secured a job at Silverstone, the firm has a solid reputation for providing a very high standard of service and I am looking forward to joining their well-regarded team. The company is working on some very high profile and exciting projects which will offer me a broad range of experience.”

Ben Hunter, director at Silverstone added: “Joe will be a great addition to our team, this is our 2nd graduate appointment in the last year and both new recruits have graduated with first class honours degrees. We pride ourselves in employing the best candidates to ensure our clients receive a high level of professional advice.”

Joe will be working towards becoming a chartered surveyor with the support and training of the senior staff at Silverstone. The team has a 100% success rate in training its surveyors to pass their APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) first time.
