A global tech firm, with offices in the North East, is taking its recruitment online, to ensure it can carry on with its expansion during lockdown.
Sunderland based Saggezza – a technology and consulting partner that delivers personalised, high-value solutions to accelerate business growth – is turning to digital and video technology to allow it to carry on conversations with prospective employees to add to its 60-strong team.
While many companies are battening down the hatches during COVID-19, it has been largely business as usual for Saggezza, with its team working from home to support its global client base. The company, which has plans to double its headcount, is continuing with recruitment plans, conducting interviews by video conference where possible, as momentum continues to build at the firm.
Lucy Harber, head of HR and operations at Saggezza (pictured), said: “We are fortunate that the nature of what we do enables us work just as well remotely as we do from the office, so we have been able to operate successfully during lockdown, with minimal impact on the business.
“So far, the company continues to grow and we are actively recruiting new people to join the team. We’re excited that we continue to create new opportunities and hope this will give people who might have been impacted the chance to embark on a new career with us. We know it has been an immensely challenging time for many.”
The Sunderland Software Centre company has offices in the UK, America and India, and a client list that includes an international investment bank and a global credit card provider. It set up its Sunderland office in 2014.
Lucy added: “In less than six years, we have seen remarkable growth, and our team has grown in size and skill during that time too. We’re a business that is constantly adapting and improving, and I think that is reflected in our approach during this pandemic. We’ve quickly adjusted to ensure that we’re able to carry on with business, and we plan to emerge from this crisis on the front foot – and, hopefully, with some talented new team members to help drive our future growth.”
