Taylor Wimpey expands Kenton Bank Foot housing scheme

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has been granted planning permission for 200 new homes as part of the third phase of development at Kenton Bank Foot.

Located in Kingston Park, Newcastle, the new site will deliver a range of two and four-bedroom family homes, up to 40 affordable assisted living apartments as well as new roads to improve access around the development.

As part of its permission, Taylor Wimpey will invest more than £2 million in improving local infrastructure and community facilities.

The contributions include an estimated £75,000 toward local health services, £100,000 for highway improvements and more than £1 million towards education provision.

Sarah Nortcott, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North East, said: “This milestone approval means we’re moving forward with our commitment to delivering high-quality new-build homes in the Newcastle Growth Area.

“We are delighted to have received planning approval for our latest development which will provide much needed homes and investment for the local community.

“In addition to this, we will also ensure that this latest development positively contributes to the local community by providing it with high-quality facilities and transport infrastructure.”

The development will include large open space areas and play areas, providing opportunities for recreation for the community.

Construction on the development is anticipated to start in August with a sales outlet opening in December.
