Tolent backs trainees with 10 new appointments across the North East

Gateshead-based Tolent has recently welcomed 10 new staff to the business, employing a mix of trainees and student placements to its operations across the North East.

Tolent’s workforce expansions comes after securing £120 million worth of work over the last 12 months, including on high profile sites such as the £84.5 million Milburngate project in Durham.

Some of the trainee roles have been created following Tolent’s involvement with the PlanBEE programme from Gateshead College, which brings together a consortium of employers in the built environment industry.

Andy McLeod, CEO of Tolent, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome my new colleagues to the business. Our workload continues to grow across the North East and the UK, so it’s important that we invest in our people, which this business has done consistently for the last 36 years.

“For those who are just starting out with their careers, it’s fantastic that we have such a wide range of projects to help shape what we hope will be long-term careers with Tolent.”

Matteo Minchella, trainee quantity surveyor at Tolent, added: “Having just finished sixth form and about to start my degree in Quantity Surveying, to have my first on-site experience on a project like Milburngate I know is going to set me up for great things.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity Tolent has given me and I’m very much looking forward to my future at the company.”
