Tolent open first homes site in Sedgefield

Gateshead-based Tolent has launched its first homes site in Sedgefield creating 100 new homes on the former Sedgefield Community Hospital site.

With the official opening of the Tolent Homes sales pavilion last weekend, the site is now open to the public Thursday to Monday, 10.00am to 17.00pm.

Since the opening weekend, the site has already had its first local buyers and received over 20 enquiries.

The site which will be known as Hardwick Grange, takes inspiration from the local natural beauty and history of Hardwick Hall and Park and will deliver 90 executive homes for sale and 10 affordable homes with a mix of three, four and five bedrooms.

Chris Price, regional director at Tolent Homes, said: “It’s been an exciting time for the business, working towards the opening of our very first homes site.

“Having built thousands of homes for a range of clients over the past 30 years, we have the best construction experience, and the best people to create some exceptional homes that meet the needs of today’s lifestyles.”

Durham County Council agreed planning permission in May 2018, and landowner Geoff Thompson agreed a joint venture deal with Tolent Homes to develop the site.

Geoff Thompson said: “We’re making great progress on site and the quality and attention given to creating this fantastic sales pavilion is testament to the teams who are driving what is going to be an astounding place to live in Sedgefield.

“The partnership with Tolent Homes is a new one for me, and I hope there’ll be many more to come as I continue to learn more about what this great North East business has to offer.”

Tolent has built some of the region’s most recognisable buildings including the Beacon of Light, Newcastle City Library, Sage headquarters and is currently on site at Hadrian’s Tower, soon to be Newcastle’s tallest building, and the much anticipated Vaux development in Sunderland.

Jan Dale from Urban Base, Land & New Homes, who are specialists in this field, said: “My agency have been privileged to support the journey to launch the new Tolent Homes project.

“The innovative show pavilion has been created by our design team and the style and fresh approach represents the commitment the team here are offering to all new buyers. Our aim is to set new heights in the enjoyment of the customer journey at Hardwick Grange”

Work has already started on site and first completions are due later in the year.
