The North East’s largest airport, Newcastle International, has today unveiled its very own official mobile app – NCL Airport – in its bid to offer the best possible passenger experience.
NCL Airport, which is free to download in the Apple and Google Play stores and was developed for the Airport by local agency Shout Digital. The App will allow customers to book car parking, lounge access and Security Fast Track, with all of their bookings saved in one place, receive real-time flight updates and alerts, book flights to more than 80 direct destinations and access pre-travel information and advice.
The app will also contain exclusive offers and discounts for the many catering outlets and shops within the airport and enable passengers to check the weather in their destination.
This first phase launch comes as Newcastle International, which has recently invested millions in transforming its International Arrivals Hall, has committed to ensuring technology is at the heart of its future development.
Graeme Mason, Planning & Corporate Affairs Director at Newcastle International Airport, said:
“We’re delighted to unveil our brand new app today. At Newcastle Airport, we pride ourselves on offering an award-winning customer experience and we’re working hard on ensuring we can further enhance our passengers’ journeys through the use of technology and the latest innovations.
“The first phase of this app is really all about helping our passengers to fully prepare for their flights, with bookings, flight and travel information housed in one place and real-time updates and alerts sent directly to their phones.
“Moving forward, we are already working on the second phase of the app and are looking at ways in which we can ensure the app grows, incorporating more features and services that will further enhance the passenger experience for the five million plus people who travel through Your Airport every year.”
NCL Airport is available to download now on iOS and Android.
