Case Study: Sunderland University & Foresight
May 18, 2022
Foresight eLearning and Creative Ltd deliver high quality, innovative digital training, and create dynamic marketing content. With a base in Hope Street Xchange and a Co-founder who graduated from Sunderland, the company has close connections to the University and want to provide exciting opportunities for our graduate talent.
Recent growth meant the business needed to increase capacity to deliver digital creative content including animation, motion graphics, video & audio production. Having successfully recruited from the graduate talent pool in the past, they naturally looked to the Graduate Internship Scheme for support; ultimately recruiting First Class Media Production graduate Sophie Willox as Junior Videographer/Content Creator.
Co-founder Barry Braley said: “The work ethic and commitment from Graduates has surpassed our expectations. Interns bring new ideas and energy into the business that we may not get with other forms of recruitment. The scheme offers a significant subsidy which also makes it a much easier business decision. We were really happy with Sophie’s appointment – she easily fitted into the team and has added value to the business quickly.”
Sophie graduated in 2021 with First Class Honours in Media Production from the University of Sunderland. Her Graduate Internship role as Junior Videographer and Content Creator with Foresight is a mixture between editing projects and going out to film in a range of different locations.
Sophie said: “I really enjoy my role and specifically the relationships you build with people and clients, there’s never a dull day. It has been challenging to learn in a more professional environment, as this was my first experience in those kind of surroundings.”
As her Internship develops, Sophie hopes to take more of a lead in the creative aspects of the role, and branching out into other creative contents.
