Clear Climate ‘set for more solar work’ after Livin Housing deal

A renewable energy firm says it is primed to roll out a raft of green projects after a housing association deal helped save residents cash.

Clear Climate hopes to “deliver several solar panel projects in the coming months” following work with Livin Housing.

The Peterlee business fitted solar panels and battery storage packs to 60 Livin properties in Chilton, County Durham, which bosses say have already brought savings of more than 70 per cent for residents.

Director Lee Peachey, who founded Clear Climate in 2017 alongside fellow director Andy Smith, said: “This contract was a big one for us, and is the first of several solar panel projects we hope to be delivering across the North East in the coming months.”

Hayley Bartofiak, Clear Climate office manager, added: “The installation of solar panels is becoming more and more popular as local authorities, businesses and residents look for ways to reduce their energy bills.”

As well as Livin Housing, Clear Climate works with businesses and organisations including Durham County Council, Bellway Homes, Tolent, Darlington Borough Council and Barker and Stonehouse.
