Hydrasun Teesside ‘keen to strengthen region’s net-zero drive’ after Thornaby expansion

An energy sector equipment provider is creating jobs after a factory move it says will help drive the region’s net-zero push.

Hydrasun Teesside wants sales staff, service engineers, technicians and graduate trainees and apprentices following a switch to a 20,000sq ft site on Thornaby’s Teesside Industrial Estate.

Bosses say the base, which provides in-house manufacturing of apparatus including control panels and a trade store, will enable it to continue supporting customers in a “very exciting period of development and transition across industry”.

Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, Hydrasun Teesside has built a reputation as a trusted supplier in the field of fluid transfer, power and control solutions.

Known for hose and instrumentation products, it also provides asset integrity assurance and reliability, field service system integration and product installation.

Additional provision includes commissioning and site service solutions, hydraulic product and services, and technical training services, with the operator the largest instrumentation product stockist and distributor for Parker Hannifin in the North East.

Furthermore, since 2016 Hydrasun has delivered more than 30 projects in the hydrogen market across UK and EU transport, industrial and power sectors, and recently bought Fuel Cell Systems to expand its offer.

Neil Holmes, regional manager for the North of England, said: “From our new premises, we will be able to offer both existing and new customers a wider range of products and services, including new integrated solutions such as the design, engineering, manufacturing and integration of bespoke and modular mechanical/electrical systems.

“We are now moving into a very exciting period of development and transition across industry, and we want to continue to support existing customers and markets, but also embrace the challenge of net-zero across the North of England.”

David Whiles, operations manager, added: “This expansion allows us to better serve our customers with an extended range of products and services.

“We aim to attract and nurture talented individuals who are passionate about supporting the energy transition and want to contribute to the company’s continued growth.”
